Classic Greek pale lager, in existence from 1864 till the eighties and then resurrected in 2000. Cobweb-lacing, snow white, medium sized head, clear ’old gold’ colour. Aroma shows signs of oxidation (older bottle!), next to impressions of dry breakfast cereals, soggy chicken grain, dried grass, some vague iron, bread crust. Typical pale lager grain sweetish flavor, cereally, thin body with fizzy carbonation, light grassy hop bitterish touch in the finish but otherwise remaining thin and grainy. Fairly neutral overall, a tad too old, very stereotypical.

330 ml bottle into lager glass, best before 4/16/2017. Pours crystal clear pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of cracker, corn, white bread, light biscuit, straw, grass, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Okay aromas with solid balance of pale/adjunct malt and light earthy hop notes; with decent strength. Taste of cracker, corn, white bread, light biscuit, straw, grass, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Minimal herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of cracker, corn, white bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Good robustness and solid balance of pale/adjunct malt and light earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness. Fairly clean on lager flavors; with some light yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and lightly grainy mouthfeel that is good. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a decent Euro pale lager style. All around good robustness and solid balance of pale/adjunct malt and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, fairly crisp, and refreshing to drink. An enjoyable offering.

Pours clear orange body with medium sized, lasting, soapy white head. A bit of lacing left on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with hints of corn. Thin body, regular carbonation. Texture is somewhat thicker then expected. Taste is pretty much your usual macro lager. Combination of malts, yeast, corn, grains and acidic metallic bitternes. Watered down. Overall, unimaginative as expected.

0.33 l can from a local grocery store in Thessaloniki, Greece. Clear golden, diminishing white head. Fake hay and grassy aroma, sweet corn, very lousy. Light to medium body, medium carbonation, unpleasant finish. This one’s bad.

330 ml bottle somewhere in Parga, Greece. Clear golden body with an average white head. Aroma and flavor is like aby other average macro lager, mild, light, slightly fruity, some bitterness. No faults, kind of refreshing in the heat but nothing original or outstanding going on.

Bottle, big bubbly head, clear gold color, aroma of candy, honey and yeast, flavor of candy with a medium and just a bit coarse herbal bitterness, quite sweet and a little heavy. Drinkable But not really exciting.

White foam. Huge DMS in aroma. Behind that malt. Very watery. In taste malt and nothing else. High carbonation. This is not good lager.
