(Draught at De Drie Dorstige Herten, Utrecht, 26 Feb 2015) Brownish golden colour with lasting, off-white head. Malty, wheaty nose with notes of banana, bread, a touch of toast and a fair amount of clove. Malty, wheaty taste with bread, banana and clove. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Really tasty and well made hefeweizen. Nice one.

Tap @ Drie Dorstige Herten. Hazy orange colour, with a white head. Nose is banana, sulphur, herbal. Flavour is malty, wheat, yeasty, subdued bitterness. Finish is slightly bitter. Medium to high carbonation. A bit metallic. Not that great at all.

Tap @ De Drie Dorstige Herten, medium sample. Slight hazy golden color, big frothy white head. Aroma of loads of wheat, some banana, quite some sulphur, slight hint of butter. Medium bitter in taste, slight sweet. Not as full bodied as a hefeweizen. The sulphur gives it more a hint of a german pilsener and therefore its more a mix of a german pilsener with a german hefeweizen. Resulting in a german wheat ale, but not a hefeweizen.

Bottle shared with Joes and Dutchdrebus @ weekly tasting. Hazy yellow - golden color, medium to full sized white head. Smell and taste wheat, a slight hint of citrus which -while the beer is a bit sweet- gives a slight sourish touch. I’d be surprised if this was intented, since it doesn’t taste like most other weizens I’ve tasted at all. So while at this point it actually tastes quite decent, I think it’s not intended so I feel I shouldn’t reward it.

Bottle @ home shared by benzai. Hazy yellow colour with a medium to full sized white head. Smells malts, yeast, some iron. Tastes wheat, sweetish, slightly smoked malts/wheat, not a whole lot of banana (thank god). Medium body, soft carbo.

Big thanks to WillemsUrenkel for that bottle. Looks really good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts mild, malty, modest yeasty, fruity notes of apricot. Modest sourish. Finish still mild. Okay.

0,5 l bottle, in an pseudo old school design. Cloudy dark yellow, with for a Weizen a small head. Low banana on the nose. Starts with bitter chewing gum, low banana, mid freshness. Later dominant bitterness. Disappointment!

Bottled 500ml@VWPBF, tnx bierkoning!
Hazy dark orange color, small white head. Overriped banana, some cardboard. Medium-bodied. Sweetish banana, not much bitterness. A bit boring weizen.

gouden, ondoorzichtig met witte kraag aroma: moutig, citrus, witbiermout, iets van banaan, gist smaken: redelijk zoet, licht bitter, licht gemout, zwakke witbiermoutige smaak, zachte smaken, maar niet bijzonder, niet erg overtuigend allemaal --- Beer merged from original tick of Weizen on 25 May 2018 at 10:58 - Score: 5
