330ml bottle bought from the Offie, Leicester and drunk at home. Medium to dark brown - cola brown really. Slight translucency with a swirl of beige head. Dark malts, liquorice, slight nutty notes, fresh caramel in the aroma. Taste is sweet with lots of liquorice root, turning to a chalky bitterness at the end. Medicinal herbs in the finish. Light body for the ABV, carbonation kept to the low side. Impressive.

Bottle. roast, strong toffee, lots and lots of whiskey, dried fruit. Taste is roasty, herbal, sweet malt, brown sugar, lots of dire fruit leading to a pleasing whiskey finish. It's nice but the whiskey is dominant.

Bottled. Pitch black colour, small beige head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is mild roast, some toffee, a bit dried fruity tones with some slight ashes and herbs. Flavour is herbal, some dried fruity tones with mild toast, roast and a wee bit of ashes. The alcohol is quite well hidden, but does show up a bit too.

Black beer, thin head. Boozy, dried fruit smell. Flavour has dried fruit, malt, a little smokiness and a touch of boozy warmth. Basic but bloody nice.
