The 2015 edition of Lublin to Dublin keeps the same theme of a full stout but this time we decided to go down a different route. Lactose sugar gives a full and velvet mouth feel to the beer while a touch of star anise gives a subtle liquorice aroma and flavour for an extra layer of depth.

Bottle at omhper’s. Opaque black liquid with small to medium light tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, biscuit, toast, floral hops and light raw sugar. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of coffee, chocolate, licorice, raw sugar and light grain. Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Nice!

Bottled 500ml. -at Sheridan’s Pub Zagreb. Served too cold. Black coloured, small brown head, mild chocolate nose. Rather sweet and slightly roasted malt, chocolate, cocoa powder and hint of alcohol with touch of dried fruits in the finish. Pleasant stout.

Last and second to last bottles at Sheridan’s - thanks ogivlado and Hrabren for sharing! Poured a daaark murky brown body with a tan head. Relatively complex aroma, raisins, dried figs, sweet cocoa notes, mushy banana later on, light maltiness. Fine enough. Taste... mild, soft, cocoa, jaffa-like notes I’m guessing are from anise, not much else, but a pleasant beer, though obviously slightly too light and lacking a fuller body/mouthfeel to shine fully.

0.5 bottle from Sheridan’s pub in Zagreb. Not sure about the color, it’s dark in the pub. It’s dark, definitely. Lasting tan head. Roasty, nuts, some bitter chocolate. Creamy, lactose present. Medium body, medium carbonation. Roasty and even fruity finish. Not bad, but could have more body or character in overall.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque black color, medium to full sized beige to light brown head that lasts for a long time. Aroma of malts, lightly chocolate, metallic a bit, that one particular coffee cookie that I really dislike. Good and bad things in this one for me. Taste malts, some chocolate again, a hint of that cookie again, some bitterness. Decent body, a bit sharp carbonation. -- So I left it a night in the fridge with the cap put back on and the sharp carbonation has disappeared which makes it a lot nicer.
