Originally rated December 2006. This Laval (Quebec) IPA pours a clean caramel-copper colour with nice steady tiny-bubbled carbonation. Got a decent off-white creamy head by pouring a good distance away from the glass. Above average retention with some mild lacing. Beautiful nose of grainy malt, caramel, nut and slight hop. Creamy and a little watery mouthfeel. The taste is not as hoppy as I expected, but just like its description. Well mixed between the bitterness and the caramel, with light apple notes. A touch of burnt malt and nut is also present in the flavours. A great India Pale Ale for those who do not like their hop crazy, but still highly there with a load of other great things. This brewery is really impressing me so far.

Clear copper coloured body with a ruby tint, millions of small bubbles and a very thick dense tan head that leaves a rather spacy lace. Aroma of fresh light hops, caramel, yeast, caster sugar, apricots and some mild apple. Medium-bodied and effervescent mouthful with a bitter hop flavour at first, fading to caramel and yeast then topped off with a good malt backbone, some light apricot and fruit sugars and finished by a toffee flavour - nice complexity. Overall, a good IPA, definitely more of an English style IPA, but very nice and balanced. I sampled this 341 mL (twelve ounce) bottle purchased from Depanneur Peluso (Bonisoir) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 09-April-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 21-February-2010.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy medium brown color ale with a average size head with OK retention and no lacing. Aroma of dry hops with light caramel malt notes. Taste is also a mix between some light caramel malt with a dry hoppy ending. Medium full body with good carbonation. Not the best mix of hops for an IPA but still very good and probably one of the best from this brewery.

Reddish dark amber ale with a thin off white head. A classic IPA aroma with nice floral hos, light piney notes and citrus. In mouth, light biscuitty malt with strong grapefruit notes, veering on astringence. A bit too much hops for the malt used. On tap at Vices et Versa, Sept. 3 2006.
