I didn’t get why they called this a premium. It doesn’t taste any better than normal Yuengling, as I had both of them side by side. True it is different a little bit, so that is a refreshing change sometimes. Not great, but cheap and definately drinkable.

Bottle from Piers at Catford BF 06. Crystal clear gold, no head. Corn aroma. Fizzy, sweet, please don’t make me drink any more of this.

bottle - This one was free and I hadn’t had Yuengling in years. I was expecting the rather decent amber colored brew I remembered, so I was surprised to see it pour yellow, though a slightly darker shade than many of the pale lagers. The light aroma has some hops and grainy scents. There’s a fizzy, rapidly fading head. The flavor is very lacking as with most beers of this style and the mouthfeel much too thin. It’s better than Bud or Miller, but still pretty poor.

12 oz can-Pours a pale gold, with a nice white head. Taste is nice and crisp. Good level of carbonation. Overall a nice pale beer.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Golden, filtered, weak head. A slight touch of hops on the nose, high carbonation and then....nothing. Water is the most prominent flavoural impression with a bit of corn. Thin, thin, thin.

Barf! this was awful. Stale, dry grainy flavor, lightly sour and just plain bad. May have been skunked though, I guess I'll try it again some time. . .

Typical american lager, no hops , clean tasting, probably uses adjuncts, rather innocuous..

I've had a handful of the Yuengling beers, and this one is one of my least favourites. This tastes more like a Budweiser than anything else, but is a step above. Not a great colour, not a great flavour, but all-in-all, not the worst beer ever. Try the traditional lager before this one, definately! I had this in a 16 ounce can at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Golden-straw colour. Big bubbles and no head...yuck. To use the most oblique reference possible, this beer’s grainy, fuselly, appley nose is everything I remember and disliked about the smell of Kokanee back in high school. Taste’s about as bad...it’s bland as far as the hops go, but the graininess overtakes any malt character that might be there. Wateriness counteracts high alcohols and acetaldehyde. That would be poor construction, no better than the way McDonald’s uses salt and lard to cover up the cardboard character of their burgers.

How sad it is that such a good brewery that makes such a good and successful 'Traditional Lager' and a really good 'Dark Porter' would stoop to making this unnecessary trash. Why oh why did they make this stuff that doesn't even differ appreciably from mega-factory-lager. Updated comments with higher rating: I still don't like this beer but its not as complete trash as I recall. In fact it actually *is* a bit of a step up from mega-lager. Hops detectable. Finish is clean and decent.
