Name changed from Triple to Triple III in 2015.
Thanks to the two fermentations in the Brakspear ’Double Drop’ system, this highly aromatic and satisfying strong beer delivers its rich flavour with subtlety and balance.
Crystal, Black and Maris Otter pale malts provide the backbone of this outstanding rich beer. Hops are added three times to provide a good balance between bitterness and fragrance.
This is a triple hopped strong beer, packaged in individually numbered bottles.

Bottled 330ml Alko. Deep nut brown color, small beige head. Nutty, malty aroma with hints of caramel. Medium-bodied. Nutty, some caramel, alcohol (rhum?) and lingering spicey bitterness in the aftertaste. Quite classical UK strong ale with robust malt profile.

33cl bottle, number C91670 from Waitrose. A glorious deep copper colour with a ring of translucent head; the aroma has raisins and molasses; the body is rather thin, with the sweetness well balanced by the malts, and a vinous Beaujolais-style taste; then some richly roasted malts add some chocolate and hazlenuts to the finish. An elegant and refined version of a Strong Ale.

Nose is dark fruits, caramel, cake mix, bread dough, light spice, honey, brown sugars. Taste comprises dark fruits, dates, fruit cake, light honey, bready malts, molasses, brown sugars, raisens. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation - a little prickly, bitter finale with light sugars. Decent enough English strong.

Bottled. Coppery brown colour with a mediumsized off-white foamy head. Aroma is floral, grassy, mild caramelly and nutty notes. Flavour is bitter hops, some fruity and caramelly notes along with mild resin and wood. Still rather mild and actually watery for being this strong.

A redbrown beer with a quite weak and blond head. Aroma is quite complex, fruits, toffee, fruit cake, sweetness, some red berries. Taste of caramell malts, fruits, spices and some drying wood, hint of strawberries. The aftertaste is surprisingly dry, some herbss, slightly musty. Medium bodied, slippery, mild carbonation. Nicely light and easy to drink, enough of complexicity without too swwetness, the good beer.

Pours dark reddish orange with a small head. Aroma of caramely malts, toffee and hints of fruits. Taste is malty, sweet and syrupy with hints of caramel. Finish is malty, slightly nutty and caramely. Decent, quite generic English Strong Ale.
