Cask at the Swan (Nicholson’s), Hammersmith. A solid black pour with an attractive purple gleam and a tight tan head; some fruit on the aroma - perhaps blackcurrant; and a solid malty body with some good chocolate malts giving a fruity, chocolate taste; before a blast of English hops giving a sustained finish.

Very dark brown, ruby edges, thin tan white head, some lacing
Aroma of dark caramel malts, some dark sugars, mellow roast
Taste of dark caramel, some quite sweet dark chocolate, soft dark sugars, very soft roast, nice dark malts, simple but quite decent
Palate - Thinnish body, bit watery, quite smooth. Finish as main flavour, linger of dark chcolate, dark sugars, then a dab of burnt roast on tail
Overall - Body is too thin but nice chocolate flavours in here
