A traditional stout. A combination of dark roasted malts and subtle hops give this robust stout a rich finish.

From cask at Stockbridge Tap. Pours pitch dark black with a fully gone head. Aroma is roasted malty and towards breadish with a mild spice note. Smooth roasted and breadish flavoured with a mild roasted note.

Cask (Market Porter, Southwark): Deep ruby amber coloured, quite stable off-white to tanned head; chocolatey and roast-malty nose; smooth MF, light to medium bodied, moderate to solid dryish-bitter flavour; malty, chocolatey and roast-malty finish. A goody......

Cask at the Woolpack Beer Festival 08, Banbury, Oxon, in the company of Glen, Trev and a good sprinkling of local CAMRA members This beer poured a very dark brown and had a wonderful light tan head, it looked quite perfect. There was some light cocoa powder on the nose nice milk chocolate creaminess to this beer, very chocolatey quite indulgent and so moreish. There were other things than chocolate like some nice soft roasty flavours and coffee but these really didn’t interest me it was the chocolate and richness and smoothness of this beer that appealed to me. If you like chocolate you’ll love it, I did.
