Bottle at home. Wow, I’m not usually one to comment on appearance, but this one looks delicious with a black body and a big tan/brown head. Aroma is strong sweet/tart cherries, dark malt, chocolate, cocoa, some coffee. Flavour is moderate sweet and a little tart, with a hint of bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. Absolutely delicious beer, it’s damn good. I gravitate towards beers that blend dark chocolate and fruits, and this one sure delivers. Great chocolate cherry Porter.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color with a purple haze. Lactose, caramel, hint of cherry in the aroma. Malty sweet roasty milky flavor with caramel and cherry. Sticky, but the cherry makes it Drinkable.

Tolles Zeug!

In der Nase Milchschokolade, sehr lecker. Im Trunk sehr süß, Schokolade, leichte Säure, Honig, hinten kommt dann deutlicher das Röstmalz. Für mich vorne zu süß.

Bottle shared by Craftmember, cheers! Very rocky, inches thick, coarse and dense but eventually regular, yellowish beige head over a misty, very dark bronze beer with ruby red hue, almost blackish. Unusual but fascinating and pleasant aroma of black cherry juice, cassis, red raspberries even, nut shells, mocha ice cream, coffee grounds, beef broth, parsley, iron, black tea, raw red cabbage, damp earth, tree leaves. Sweetish onset with a lot of dark cherry juice, adding mild tartness which mingles with a basic blackcurrant-like sourishness, hint of pear, gently drying tartness persisting. Medium carbo (less sharp than expected based on the looks), thoroughly nutty malt middle, nut shells and walnuts, softer toffeeish accent, dark bitter chocolate character in the end with ongoing black cherry juice flavor, herbal tea-ish hop bitterness, toasted ending mingling bitter, sweet, sour and even umami in a strangely appetizing way. I haven’t had too many cherry porters but usually the fruit tartness overrules the dark maltiness, pushing things out of balance; here, however, they make for a fascinating, well-balanced blend of flavors, which I personally think work well together, especially since this interpretation puts more emphasis on the sweetness of ripe black cherries than on fruit acidity.

Deep dark brown, almost black beer pours lots of dark brown foam. Aroma has malts, roast, chocolate, coffee and licorice. Taste has malts, roast, chocolate, some coffee and yeast. Also plenty of cherry and berries. All is in good balance, however. Medium body and carbonation.

330ml Bottle - Black with a foamy tan head. Coffee and cherries in the aroma. Sickly sweet taste with raisins, cherries, coffee and liquorice. Not that much balance and the combination of lactose and cherries probably makes it a bit too sweet for my tastes.
