2017 catch up - Bottle at home - A good porter, with a light, but clear flavour of smoked malt. Nice mouth feel and overall good. Too rich to have more than one though!

Bottle shared at the Queen’s Gardens - massive thanks to Daniel! Pours red-brown with a foamy, tan head. Light toasted bread in the nose, some earth. Light sweet flavour with a little s ones malt, faint dry cocoa, ashy roast, dried fruits. Light bodied with average carbonation: somewhat dry in the finish, with some dried berries, dusty chocolate, further ashy roast, scorched earth. Pretty decent.

Bottle thanks to Dan. It pours darkest brown with a medium tan head. The aroma is rich, roasted maltage, very meaty, smoked action and bonfire. The taste is bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, toasty, smoked malt notes, charred action, leather, varnish and resin with a dry, smoked finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Decent smoked porter.

Bottle at my desk in work. Pour opaque black with a nice lasting mid tan head. Aroma is damp wood, earthy smoke, like a rained on campfire, some bitter roast. Slifght medicine phenol on the nose, but nothing unpleasant. Palate is frothy, airy, highish carbonation. Flavour is composed of bitter dark choc, bitter roast, light medicinal smoke, hint of tcp. light cream. Big flavour forward beer. The bitterness is slightly too much for me.
