A hint of initial sweetness adds to the fruitiness and grapefruit tang of this summer ale without detracting from its clean flavour and rich hop aroma.

Bottle at home, from Beer Merchants, 14/06/15. Clear golden with a decent off white covering that retains well. Nose is crisp citrus, melon, straw, light caramel, touch of bread. Taste comprises carmel, orange peel, bread, melon, light vanilla. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, grassy hop bitterness in the close. Ok golden blonde.

Cask from the West End, Ely. Dark orange/gold, reasonable amount of carbonation. Light aroma of fresh oranges with a hint of jasmine. Burst of sweet, bitter and sour citrus in the taste. Settles to a slightly too bitter finish. A notch above your bog standard golden ale.

Pours almost clear golden color, topped with a nice white frothy head. Mild fruity aroma, some flowery notes and a hint of elderflower. Taste is slightly sweet with some grassy hops to it, very mild bitterness in the finish and a bit watery. Drinkable, not bad.

500ml bottle. Clear, orangey, deep golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Floral hoppy aroma, slightly perfumed, herbal, a fruity touch of gooseberry, biscuity malty basis. Taste is slightly sweet, biscuity malty, mildly bitter hoppy overtones, minimally herbal, floral and mineral, a touch of lemon and gooseberry. Nice.

Clear medium golden colour, small frothy white head, disappears quickly, good lacing. Hoppy nose, lemon, caramel notes, bread, hay, bit of baserment. Taste light medium bitter and light sweet, fruity citrus notes. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, dry bitter aftertaste, some fruitiness, overall refreshing, very drinkable.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from an online shop. Pours mostly clear gold with a creamy white head. The nosr has some aged hay, biscuits, lemon. Light-medium sweet flavor with low bitterness, some ripe, lightly dried citrus fruits, a bit of hay, grains. Light bodied with ine to average carbonation. Some further grainy pale malts to finish, biscuits, rindy lemon. Perhaps not super fresh but still OK.
