This Zenne y Frontera is a blend of two year-old lambic coming off one single Amontillado barrel (85% of the blend) and three different young lambics (15% of the blend), with the aim of creating an Oude Geuze with the refined aroma of Amontillado and sherry casks. This turned out to be a powerful “Sherry Armand & Gaston”. 100% 3 Fonteinen. Only 774 bottles produced (minus the ones we tasted ourselves).

Dit natuurlijke millésime bier is een assemblage van jonge traditionele lambikken die verder gerust hebben op veertig jarige en oudere authentieke Oloroso, Amontillado en/of Pedro Ximé-nez sherryvaten. Thick deep rustic gueuze notes swimming in stonefruit notes, lacy lemon and citrus, medium high carb to fit the delicate body. Delicious. Almost a nutty citrus note from the sherry barrel. Now I wish I had some sherry.

Bottle @ Indy Man Beer Fest, Manchester. Pours cloudy orange with a small creamy white head. Sherry, wood, funk and sesame seeds. Vinous sherry lingering with a dry funky finish. Dope.

Bottle, 750 ml at Lambikodroom OBD. Shared with Hrvoje and Tin. Hazy orange with white head. Fruity, funky, barrel, citrus, some sherry notes, lively carbonation. Medium bodied.

0,75l bottle at the Lambic-O-Droom. amber murky color, medium big white head. very lively carbonation. smells of sherry, peppery, oak, nutty, grassy,bit cheesy.lovely smell. full body, soft pearly carbonation. tastes citric, grassy, some sherry, nutty, oak, peppery. finishes bubbly and lightly sour with notes of citrus, oak and sherry notes. very nice one, very bright and easy to drink, very high on the carbonation,but overall lovely.

Nose: peppery, brett forward, rich grape. Palate: very high carbonation, tannins
Some frothy white head. Sour and a bit tart, sherry, peach, barrel, some vanilla in the finish. Excellent.

Pours dark blonde. Biggest foam ( most stability) of the new serie. Not much sherry int he scent. Funky, oaky. Taste is sharp, highly carbonated. Lemon tartness. Full on sour. Least pronounced sherry of all the zenne's to date.
