Cask-conditioned at the Phoenix Bar, Portishead 11/6/2015. Amber with a tight, off-white, head. Sweetish bitter, with cereal malts, a hint of a Burton Snatch and moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Has that Marston's taste, inoffensive but nowt special. Bit of a weird aftertaste to boot.

Cask at Acre, Tourist Town Centrum, 10/04/15. Clear golden with a decent off white covering. Nose is caramel, biscuit malt, light spice, muted fruit tones. Taste comprises more biscuit, toffee, straw, light fruit. Medium bodied, fine to soft carbonation, semi drying close. Looks and feels good, lacks at the business end, probably more a (golden) bitter than a GB for me - wasn’t picking up much in the way of hops or citric notes.

Bottle from Tesco, Enniskillen [050415]
Golden amber, clear, frothy white head
Aroma of sulphur, some minerals, light sweet caramel, dull zest, slight floral notes
Taste of sweet caramel, soft citrus zest, some of that Marstons yeast, dab of golden syrup, quite malty, dab of minerals
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, slightly oily, quite sweet. Finish has light caramel, golden syrup, dull zest
Overall - Not that keen on the aroma, taste is better, bit more malty that usual for a golden ale. Easy going, fairly quaffable, not too bad. Average supermarket fare.

Pint on tap. Fruity vinegar nose. Amber beer with thin white head. Taste is fruity, tangy, creamy. Finish is the same. A persistent sulphur note is a major distraction, otherwise this would be great.

Bottle from Tesco and drunk at home. Gold clear lasting white head. Decent blond golden ale. Decent hoppy citrus bite on the finish. I rather like it.. Clean. Some pale malt, some decent orangey tangerine flavour on the finish. I rather liked it.

500ml bottle from Tesco -Clear gold body, with a healthy white head and lacing. Fruity citrus hops on the nose, bit of zesty lemon, light malt character. Rather ordinary beer, but refreshing nonetheless.
