Pint bottle from who knows where and shared in Kuala Lumpur. Around nine years old. Poured almost black in colour with frothy round off-white head. The aroma is light roasty malt, raisins, blackberries, plums. The flavour is over moderate liqourice bitter, with a roasty, dry ashtray, coffee, earthy, mineral, red berry fruit, liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

650ml bottle. Quasi black colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Roasty, chocolately dark malty as well as slightly caramel malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, cocoa. Taste is dry, roasty, chocolately dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, dry cocoa, subtle sweet-ish hints of caramel, milk chocolate, mocha, bitter hoppy counterpart. Creamy texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine and soft carbonation. Rather simple, a tad monotonous, but quite intense - OK.

Bomber from Big Al's. Near black pour, foamy beige head, then patchy with tiny ring. Aroma is chocolatey, roasty, coffee. Perfectly balanced. Taste follows in the same order, small bitter bite. Coffee sometimes makes me avoid a beer, here it is in perfect harmony with the roast malts.
