Hak Mo Sheung 黑無常 (lit. Black Impermanence) is the gatekeeper of the underworld in Chinese mythology. The mysterious legend inspired the team to create a new beer series. A decadent imperial stout, aged in Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels, the series of beers is then fermented a second time with more ingredients to create exciting flavor variations.

Tap at Alvy's. Opaque dark black pour with dense almost solid Kailua-like light tan head. Really good looking. Aroma is chocolate, licorice, prune, some faint soy, and not as much in the way of vanilla or wood as expected. Not my favorite profile for stouts. Taste is similar - chocolate and dark fruit with some roasted coffee. Slightly chalky palate but not too bad. Very smooth and rich. Very nice but just not the flavors I prefer in stouts. Recommend nonetheless.
