Can from a Waitrose and shared with a good friend at the end of an excellent meal and some great red wine. Lovely pour and a great head courtesy of the nitro. Insane first sip with flavours all over the place, but it quickly settled down into a top, bitter and smooth stout.

Can from Best of Beers. Black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. Oily and soft. 210625

Tap at KEG. Pours jet black with no head. Nose is coffee, earthy notes, chocolate, caramel light smoke. Taste is somewhat sweet, boozy with hints of molasses and there are the roasted, earthy, dark chocolate-y and coffee notes to balance it out. Closes with long lasting bittersweet finish, it has a medium body and soft carbonation.

Oily black, tan head. Aroma of dried dark fruits, tobacco and tar. Rich taste of licorice, tobacco and tar, a hint of salt.

Virtually black with a creamy, light brown head. Aroma is earthy and full of something like smoked chocolate. Interesting, but not exactly enticing. Taste is bitter with a hint of milk chocolate. The rising acidity at the finish keeps it from being truly likable. Full-bodied, mildish carbonation. Overrated for my taste.

Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige head, unstable. Aroma: soy sauce, oxidized, blueberries, jam, good roast, sourish impression. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sourish start, good roast, bitter, caramel notes, fruity, blueberries, coffee. Aftertaste: roasted, sourish, blueberries, some alcohol, more roast, soy sauce, malty, some ripe banana.

44cl can. A dark reddish brown beer with a tan head. Aroma of mid sweet dark malt, chocolate and coffee. Taste of strong dark malt, melasse, chocolate, liqurice.
