500 ml bottle, bought in Edinburgh. ABV is 4.2%. Very dark reddish brown colour, nearly black. Large and lasting tan head. Very nice aroma of roast malts, coffee and dark chocolate, hints of blackcurrants and liquorice. The flavour is first fairly fruity and slightly acidic, then a moderate roastiness and pronounced coffee notes take over. Moderate hops and chocolate in the finish. Relatively light bodied for its style, but definitely an enjoyable beer.

Bottled (thanks GarethYoung!). Very dark amber colour, quite close to black. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, blackcurrant along with some smoke and licorace. Just lovely. Flavour is at first very licoracy and some blackcurrant and some coffee but turns more and more roasted towards the finish. The roastiness and coffee stays for a while in a pleasant aftertaste. Really pleasant for a 4.2% brew.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, dark brown with an orange hue. Tiny, off-white head. Aroma is one of hard roasted malt. Light body with malty, lightly burned coffee accents. Dry and very drinkable with a subdued bitterness. 140107

Creamy head, mostly lasting, wonderfull darkcolour, with reddish look in light. Powerfull aroma, but the taste is not that good. It tastes too much of cold coffee.

Bottled. Near black, small off white head. Aroma of licorice and black currant. Drish with clean, rounded mouthfeel and fairly light body. Roasty with notes of coffee and chocolate. Restrained hoppiness, fairly low bitterness. (No, I didn’t cheat and look at the commercial description before I rated it...)
