Pours bubbly, slightly hazed pale gold with a huge, frothy white head. Aroma is grain malt, lemon and a great deal of green bottle. Very bitter...hoppy and grainy. Grows sweeter and slightly less harsh as it warms.... But still, not memorable or appealing.

Bland and unexciting pilsener. Nothing exceptional about his one, just an average pilsener. Nice look to it, with fairly thick foamy head, but all is just normal.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Comes as: "Eichbaum Kläänes Pils". Pours a clear yellow with a malty nose. Medium body, sweet malts, a metallic touch, some cardboard and a bitter finish. 040112

Clear straw gold, brief white head that vanishes completely after about a minute. Sweet grainy aroma, same on the palate.

Found this in my local Morrisons store, I think the brewery has dropped the ’Ureich’ from the name for the UK market: best before May 2007, drank March 2007. 4.8%, they just call it Eichbaum Premium Pils, sold in 0.5 litre brown bottles at 99 pence each. I had just finished chopping and sawing wood for the ’sit around the Chimnia and be happy we’ve got central heating inside, evening’ my wife has planned. I wanted something to quell my thirst and remembered i had a couple of bottles of this awaiting to be opened. Poured into a Veltins glass (two and a half times), it looked good, a full golden straw blonde in colour, with a smooth white head, the head soon disappeared to leave a thin collar round the glass. Smells of dry straw, but not enough to trouble hay fever sufferers, a slight yeast and hop aroma also, but only if I am being kind. Very refreashing, dry, yet a bit sweet, a good example of a German Pilsner. Most lagers/pilsners have very little aftertaste to me, this is as good as I’ve had, but it might be down to the thirst I had when drinking this beer. I liked this beer, pilsner is not my prefered beer when at home, or when out in the UK, but this was most enjoyable and just what I needed after some manual work. I would have no problems putting this in my supermarket trolley again.

Can, long lasting head, lightish golden colour, honey aroma with maybe a herbal hint, strong flavour of honey and vanila, quite sweet with very light bitterness. Unbalanced and barley drinkable.

Can. Clear golden with a small white head. Corny grainy aroma with some slightly metallic hops notes. Sweetish flavor, somewhat grainy, with light, slightly metallic, bitterness in the finish. Light-bodied. Not too offensive.

Can. A clear, golden beer with a small, white head. Weak aroma with fruityness and grains, some grass and hay as well. The flavor is pretty much the same, way too grainy. Not much bitterness going on. Medium to thin on the palate, quite dry. Well, it drinks easily, but it’s not easy to motivate myself to drink it. 111105

Can @ Ulfborg, Early Winter Tasting, 2011. Pours clear golden with a small frothy white head. Paper and grain. Rough corn. Thin. Quite a lot of paper.
