Cask at Lych Gate, Wolverhampton. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a medium sized tan head and good lacing. Roasted malts dominate the aroma, with just a hint of lactose and oats as well. In the mouth it is sweet and smooth with a creamy texture. Roasted malts again plus chocolate and vanilla with some traces of liquorice later on. This is rather nice to say the least.

Cask at the Seven Stars, Stourbridge. Pours very dark brown with a medium head. Aroma is fruity cocoa and liquorice. Taste has fruity roast, cocoa and liquorice. Dry.

Keg at PoW, Farnborough. Creamy chocolate and coffee aroma. Uite rich. Dark and glossy. A cola tinge. Frothy beige head has legs. There an initial watery molasses sweetness, flowed by coffee bitterness. Malty notes. Sour edge for dark berries gradually begins to dominate. Medium bodied. Creamy if watered down. Soft carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Nice enough but a tad watery in terms of flavour and mouthfeel.

Pours an almost clear black colour with a ruby red tint and a small beige head that settled. Aroma is chocolatey and roasted malts with a hint of light smoke. A moderately sweet roasted taste, sweet roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, dark and dried fruit flavours with a roasted finish.
