"I suppose I should have seen it coming this time," groaned old Claus. "Holiday ornaments mysteriously disappearing, reindeer falling from the sky inexplicably and then of course, I discovered that tiny hands have been prying into that cask of wonderful new Double Ale I've got stashed down in the cellar. That's when I called in a specialist from the Elf department. He just confirmed what I already suspected. We've got a rather serious Elf problem here at the pole."

Bottle from HOTM. Clear amber with small white head, decent lacing. Malty aroma with fruity notes - picking up toffee, apple, flora. Taste of malts, raisins, toffee apple, strong bitterness but a bit of a nothing finish except sweet malts and booze. Medium bodied, smooth, tons of alcohol warmth on the way down, low carbonation neither adds nor distracts. Its nice enough - but in reality just another mediocre strong Ridgeway beer *hic*

Bottle split at the XmasKracker tasting, thanks to LKS, Watford 10/12/21. Mahogany brown with a good sized beige cap. Nose is dried fruit rinds, dusty, raisins, toffee, brown bread. Taste comprises fruit cake, light spice, bitter fruit esters. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Pretty basic and lacking any kind of depth associated with a 9% beer !

Bottle shared in Watford - picked up from HOTM. Pours crystal clear honey-gold with a lasting, creamy white head. Moderately sweet with rich bready malts, some simple sugars, a little honey. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mellow warmth in the finish, more rich bready malts, lightly toasted sugars. Enjoyable stuff, if a bit simple.

33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours loaded gold, almost amber, fairly transparent, with fine white foam. Aroma is a little alcoholic and floral. Body is fairly dense, alcoholic, with average carbonation. Taste is intensely sweet, but with an overwhelming alcoholic feeling. Final is pretty long and sweetish.
