The ever-shifting landscape of 'new' Russian craft brewing produces some more 'stable' names every now and then, Wild Lab in Moscou being one of them. Thanks to Meeki Meekio for sharing at Dok Brewing Company! Snow white, mousy, medium thick, open head on a cloudy yellow blonde beer with apricot hue. Aroma of pineapple juice, fresh oranges, sugared lemon juice, diesel, moist marijuana, mojito, rambutan. Very fruity onset in a juicy way, pineapple and mandarin juice with a touch of lime, quite sweet, with a minerally yet nowhere overly harsh carbonation effect; soft doughy malt base soaked in refreshingly citric New World hoppiness, very pineapple- and mandarin-forward still, providing only mild, yet late and lingering, bit powdery bitterness. The juiciness however dominates the finish. It's almost incredible that in about a dozen years after it originated, New England IPA is executed this well in a country like Russia - if anyone told me this beer was made in the U.S., or perhaps England or Scandinavia, it would have readily believed it. Very bright and sunny (in that sense perhaps very un-Russian as well), technically flawless and characterful, I had way worse NEIPAs from various countries - including the Anglo-Saxon ones - than this and I think that deserves an extra point, even if this whole wave of 'fruit juice IPAs' is perhaps not my preferred style personally.

Tap @ Panema, Helsinki. Poured hazy and slightly orange looking color. Aroma of strawberry jam and ripe fruits. Strawberry, ripe fruits, hops and sweetness. Not an NEIPA I enjoy as it is now.
