Almost black with thin head. It's rich and sweet. Honey and vanilla. Quite sticky. The smokey element is more subtle but does come through well in the aftertaste.

Draft at Ale Arsenal. Deep mahogany with very small off-white head. Smoke stands out on both the aroma and flavor. Rich malt as well Really tasty with bourbon aspects. Slight roast.

0,33 flaske fra mitt aller hemmeligste lager, delt med meg selv in memoriam Jostein: nesten kølsvart med ok skum. Brandymarinerte svikser og fiken, lakridschokolader, årgangsmadeira og torvrøykte vaniljestenger. Urovekkende lettdrikkelig, raffinert og dekadent.

Sampled from the tap at Lama Dog. Pours black with a dark brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has smokey malts and dark grains with a bit of boozy barrel supporting. Flavor has bourbon and smokey dark grains with a bit of roast and chocolate backing.

9th August 2021 Almost opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, slightly soft and mildly dry, emerging decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, nice caramel and cream, little dark toffee. Soft dark chocolate sits waaay back in the background, but is a welcome subtone. Smooth fruity bourbon barrel, barrel aged ripe fruits The smoke is smooth but a little more on the front foot than would be my preference. Modest alcohol spice. Smooth finish. A grower, wasn't too engaged on the first few mouthfuls but as me gob adjusted, in entices and entertains.

Solsletta 160521. Dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma is alcohol, bourbon, whiskey, smoked. Flavor is alcohol, whiskey, bourbon, roasted malt, peat, coffee, smoked, chocolate, dried fruits, vanilla, wood. Complex powerful beer.

Bottle. It pours an unclear dark brown body and a small beige head. The aroma is lightly smoked and peaty, with alcohol, roasted malts, dark chocolate, booze, some dark dried fruits and hints of coffee. It's full-bodied, smooth and warming, with quite a lot of sweetness. Some bitterness, but not more than it needs. Smoke, roasted malts, coffee, dark sugar, dark dried fruits and some vanilla and wood in the flavor. Lasting finish. A delicious one, well suited for sharing, or an hour in the best chair. 210516

8-4-8-4-16 Bottle, #13201, bottle 0037/6500, three months after bottling. Pours black, with a small creamy mocha head. Aroma is roasted malts with rye bread, dark fruits, liquorice and notes of smoke, as well as cherries, dark berries, spices, vanilla, tannins and oak barrels. Medium to full, velvety body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet malty notes of bread, dark fruits and tobacco, as well as liquorice, muscovado, smoked wood, tannins and bourbon barrels.
