Bottle from Carrefour and drunk at home. clear copper amber colour lasting cream head. Good malts and rather lovely pepper hop aroma. Yes the malts are either nice. Like a biscuit vienna. The hops on the finish are persistent. Black pepper finish, I thought very tasty. Good

bottle from Auchan Mulhouse. Hazy golden color with a tall and persistent white head. Yeasty-fruity flavors are there, with a pleasant peppery spiciness and a good, slightly citrusy herbal hoppy finish. Smooth palate and dangerously drinkable despite the strength.

Bière bouteille trouvée chez Match. Robe cuivrée, belle mousse blanche tenace. Nez sur le malt, la levure. Bouche idem, malt et levure, elle est bien présente sans que ce soit prédominant. Sympa, je la préfère à la 3 monts classique sans qu'elle soit exceptionnelle non plus. (M)

Taste: Malty, over moderate to medium sweet, hints of caramel, light to moderate bitterness. Quite strong yeast notes. Spicy notes, hints of white pepper, subtle notes of bitter orange peel. Hints of banana. Earthy. Bit dry-ish mouthfeel. Yeasty, spicy and bit floral finish with dry bittery palate. Just under medium, quite dense body. Just below average carbonation. Nice one. Nice complexity, especially for a Bière de Garde.
