Amager Rye Porter is the result of fruitful cooperation between the best of Danish and American brewing cultures. It’s base is made of hard roasted malts and 16% rye. It adds a fantastic sweetness, and a titillating spicy edge, which, combined with a subtle and balanced acidity, is reminiscent of rye bread. This is not a beer for the weak, we’re pleased with the outcome and hope you will be too.

Bottle. Dark brown. I really prefer British and American to Belgian but this was not bad. Roasted and dark it had decent flavour.

Large sticky mocha head. Quite roasty, malty and surprisingly hoppy. Here is a great baltic sweetness to the malts with a good dose of green leafy hopping. Bitter coffee, roasty finsh. Light boozy finsh, good carb, and good mouthfeel. A great beer.

Bottle from Olbutikken. Very dark brown, almost black with big bubbly creamy golden head. Aroma is lots of roast, coffee bitterness, something floral, brown bread and milky chocolate. Taste is full on roasted maltiness up front, then the chocolate and creaminess comes through and the finish is bitter and hoppy. Very thick and smooth. Feels full on in the mouth but at the same time very drinkable. Pretty damn nice.

On tap at Craft Room, late summer 2017. Dark brown, small to a moderate off-white head. Strong aroma of dried fruits like prunes and figs, along with caramel and brown sugar balanced with a roasty chocolate touch. Sweet and alcoholic, chocolate present. Medium to full body, creamy, moderately lasting roasty finish. Very good!

On tap at Craft Room, Zagreb. Pours dark brown, medium beige head. Sweet, milky chocolate, roasted malts, licorice, medium+ bodied. Bit sticky. Oily. Bit too sweet for my taste, otherwise a very nice brew.

On tap at Craft Room Zagreb. Black coloured, small to medium sized brown head, roast and alcohol in the nose. Roasted malt, black chocolate, light wood and rye with notes of licorice and noticable alcohol. Subdued hops in the finish. Quite nice.

Pitch black colored, small+ dark tan creamy head. Aroma is of dark chocolate, some licorice, roasted malt, bit coffee, some caramel and toffee. Taste is medium to very sweet, roasted malt, some caramel and toffee, milky and dark chocolate and lots of it, some licorice, bit of rye, medium roasty bitterness, light alcohol with some small warming sensation. Full- bodied, soft carbonation, thick and creamy. Very nice! (on tap, Craft Room, Zagreb)

Tap at Craft Room. Pitch black, brown head. Full aroma, heavy malt, marzipan and raisins, chocolate chip cookies aaaand alcohol. Lotsa. Soft body, silky and creamy. Fantastic mouthfeel. Spicy rye touches, chocolate... But vague. Flat tea notes in the finish. World. Class in some aspects, slightly disappointing in others. Fantastic and okay at the same time. Love to have tried it.
