12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 4/12/2012. Pours slightly hazy reddish brown color with a nice 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, toast, toffee, nuttiness, dark bread, brown sugar, floral, and slight dark fruitiness. Excellent aromas with great complexity and balance of dark malt notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, chocolate, toffee, brown bread, nuttiness, toast, brown sugar, floral, and slight dark fruits. Lingering notes of caramel, chocolate, toffee, brown bread, nuttiness, brown sugar, toast, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and robustness of dark malt flavors; with good complexity and zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy and fairly slick mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent brown ale! Great balance and robustness of dark malt flavors; with a great mouthfeel and smooth drinking. A highly enjoyable offering; one of the best brown ales I have had.

Dobre, smaczne i wytrawne brown ale. Bardzo zbliżone do Brookyńskiego. Ciemno brązowy kolor z rubinowymi refleksami z niewielką pianką. Ale piwo jest bardzo treściwe i sycące.

From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Best when consumed by date 04-02-07. Dark cola color with a thin tan head. Nutty caramel aroma. Smoky notes in an otherwise thin brew. May be way past its prime.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 1/11/13

Aroma: The nose has malty and sweet, with chocolate, some caramel and toffee as well
Appearance: It pours a clear dark brown color with a red hue, a fizzy tan head and spotty lace
Flavor: The taste is medium-plus sweet, heavy malty, with nutty undertones, and minimal hops
Palate: The body is medium, it has average carbonation, and a clean, lengthy finish
Overall Impression: This is a solid brown that could probably use a bit of a hop presence for some balance. It is a little one-dimensionally sweet/malty. Still though, it is well-made and drinkable, and pretty much what you'd expect from Goose Island quality-wise in this style.

Little aroma, weak dark roasted malt. Clear brown, thin tan head. Weak, mild nuttiness, hint of coffee toward the end. Goose Island has only been available in my area after the AB acquisition. I wonder if this beer was this weak before then.
