Keg at The Hanging Bat. Black body with a thin beige head. Nice lacing. Mild aroma of charcoal, wood smoke and fruit pudding. Interesting flavour of plum, cranberry and raisin. Medium body with an oily texture. Fizzy carbonation. A really unusual beer - it’s a bit like a blend between a rich Stout and tangy cranberry juice.

Bottle. A really dark brown beer topped by a dense, finger-thick dark beige head. The aroma is pretty roasted, with some bonfire and dried fruits. Pine cones and resins too, some grass. Notes of molasses and licorice. The flavor has the same bonfire and licorice hints found in the aroma, with a faint peppery touch, pine cones and grass. Full body, semi-dry and quite carbonated,. with a nice bitterness towards the end. Grass, pine cones and a touch of black pepper and licorice. Unusual, but nice indeed. 140315
