Can at Old Chicago.
Pours auburn, not quite clear, an inch of slightly off white foam.
Smells fruity, spicy, malty in that order.
Kinda reversed in the taste. Big caramel sweetness, light hops, no fruit.
Bugger, it was canned October 2nd.

This is real nice winter warmer, mildly hoppy, modestly malty, and lots of gentle warmth. Darkish amber with adequate beige head. Lingering resinous hops on the finish.

Pounder: Honey and pine needle nose. Clear auburn, medium tan head, decent lacing. Ash, whole orange, grapefruit peel. Slightly smoky. Medium body, resinous, soft carbonation. Good and intensity of flavor, distinctive.

Deep dark copper and amber coloured body with a nice once centimetre tall just off-white head and a little lighter glow at the bottom. Aroma of toasted malt, toffee, caramel, rich sweetness and some lighter fruits - very nice, but still deep. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and piney hops up front with a large toffee, caramel and robust malt flavour at the end - very nice, complex and well-balanced. Aftertaste is quite lengthy with the hops showing right at first then fading to a subdued toffee and caramel sweetness and ending with a light earthy malt flavour. Overall, a nice beer with a good profile and a solid taste throughout, showing some sweetness, bitterness and complexity! I sampled this twenty ounce pint on draught at Home Team Sports in Boise (BOI Airport), Idaho on 08-April-2014 for US$ en route back home to [the real] Washington.

bottle thanks to John, pours light caramel, thin white head. Very nice aroma of cascade and orange marmalade and alcohol. Wow, lots of alcohol and sweet bready malts. A very interesting winter beer.

Courtesy of Degarth. Pours copper with a bit of haze and thin tan head. The aroma has a quick hit of roasty malts before sweet dark fruity esters are noticed with layers of boysenberry, Concord grape jam and cherries. Yum. The taste is just like the aroma with a mild roasted malt flavor that rides throughout. The dark fruitiness isn’t as bold as in the nose and seems to be cut by mild grapefruit and pine hop bitterness.

On tap at Sockeye Boise, Pours out a dark murky brown topped with a small tan head. A nice sweet aroma of citrus hops. A pretty nice winter brew. A little spice and some sweet hops. Very well done.

On Tap at Sockeye: Deep mahoghany color with ruby tones. Nice lacing too. Aroma is fruity and of sweet malt. Taste is a combination of fruits, caramel, maltiness, citrus, hops, and a hint of spice. Featured a nice medium body and finished clean, moderately crisp yet smooth. I’d gladly have another...

On Tap at the brewpub Hazy, deep reddish brown with a small light tan head and sturdy lasting lacing. Deep malty aroma, easy on the hops and some hints of the ABV coming through. Flavors were sweet malty, a bit woody and the alcohol is noticable. Nice smooth and fairly heavy feel. Again, not too hoppy but otherwise strong all around.
