Lager like this doesn’t come easy. We’ve been finessing Coldharbour Lager since its very first brew back in 2015. That’s how we know we’ve nailed it. Sit back, take a sip, andget a taste of Brixton. Back in the day, travellers to London found shelter on Brixton’s Coldharbour Lane. These days it’s a free-spirited, anything goes kind of street, inspiring this pilsner-style beer, with its Bohemian origins. Coldharbour is full of fearless craft character.

Keg at the Victoria, Woodham. Citrus aroma with hints of lagery yeast. Medium.good. Bubbly. Foamy bright white head. Initial light sweet taste with with a yeasty streak. Some low key citrus sourness. Then develops light grainy bitterness. Eventually develops more long lasting sugary sweetness. Light bodied. Thin but slick. Soft fizzy carbonation. Dry astringent finish. Decent enough Pils style lager... or Czech style as I now note.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at Clapton Craft. Pours totally clear yellow-gold with a tight, frothy white head. Crispy pale grains in the aroma, some straw, lemon peel. Light sweet flavour with notes of dried cereal, lightly bitter hay, a touch of subtly tang lemon rind, biscuits. Light bodied with average carbonation. Reasonably crisp in the finish, more biscuits and dry cereal, mild bitter straw. Overall, a serviceable lager.

Bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras and drunk at home. Hazy pale gold colour thin white head. Czech style lager, with that Czech malty flavour. Decent hops, not overly bitter, pretty well balanced. Clean and remarkably well made.
