Bottle from Sainsbury’s. Amber colour, small white head. Very little aroma, malty with a metallic back taste

Bottle from Sainsbury’s. Mid-gold, noticeable carbonation but no head. There isn’t much in the scent, a bit of resin, caramel and grain. Sweet taste with a bitter finish. More dull resinous caramel and orange in the aftertaste. Dull.

Bottle from ye big global retailer. Appearance - bright orange like lucozade. Big fluffy head. Nose - pine and toffee. A bit dirty and earthy. Taste - citrus and toffee. Again a but dirty. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a dry earthy finish. Overall - the nose gives hope but it slides off the cliff after that. Amazing how the massive retailers despite their wealth are unable to persuade very talented brewers to sell their soul and brew for them.

Bottled. Ambery golden colour with a small head. Aroma is fruity, floral, some mild rubbery and grainy notes. Flavour is fruity, floral, some earthy and herbal notes along with mild grains and some cooked vegetables as well. APA yes, but feels kind of half hearted and cheap.

Lively and clear amber beer with a thick foamy head. Light hoppy citrus smell. Flavour is a touch underwhelming to be honest. It starts off promising: hop, light fruits (apple, perhaps) along with the zesty citrus but it kind of peters out into nothingness. It’s not watery as such, just the taste doesn’t hang about for long.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Clear gold colour, with a small white head. Nose is sweet caramel and citrus. Flavor is again sweet with a grassy bitterness on the finish..

355ml bottle from, I believe, Sainsburys. Drunk in the garden. Pours clear copper. Fairly mediocre APA very low on flavour by American standards. Alright I guess, and fairly easy drinking but just lacking in taste, hops, bitterness, body and everything else an APA should be.

355ml bottle from Sainsbury’s. Pours clear gold, no head. Malty aromas, light lemon citrus, touch of butterscotch. Taste is more of the same. With so many good APAs being made in this country, why import something so mediocre?

Bright clear gold - amber beer. Palate is smooth and little dry with fine carbonation. Smooth semi dry malt, light touch of caramel. Mild hops. Little orange and orange peel. Very light bitterness. Smooth semi dry finish. It’s not bad but there are so many better pale ales around!
