There’s a spicy signature to this incredibly complex cockle-warming winter ale. The nose is reminiscent of raisins, dates and molasses while the palate is vinous with tannin-like notes of leather, vanilla, apricots and a hint of rustic Armagnac on the finish. An awesome after-dinner drop.

A coppery beer, a head is quite small and blond. Aroma has sweet and dried perry fruitness, some apricot and maltyness of dry cake. Taste has sweetness of caramel and dried fruits, some drying and flowery bitterness. Medium bodied, low carbonation. slippery to drink. A very sweet with dried fruits, but still balanced. Better than I expected with some feelings of X-mas.

Smell of malt, caramel, a faint of oak. Copper colour, beige head. Aroma of oak, some spices, overripe fruit, a faint of metal. Sweet. Lively carbon, slightly oily palate. Slightly off balance.

Off white creamy head stayed well on a translucent dark auburn coloured still body - looks appetising. Malt & dark fruit aroma. Medium to full body feel, very smooth to the fore & slightly pert on the back. Sweetish on the front with rich dark fruits, brown sugar, dark berries & malt but this fades across the palate to a slightly hoppy back with peach, apricot & tangerine.

Pours clear amber color with medium white head. Smell is malts, yeast, caramel and a bit of hops. Medium to full body with soft but prickly carbonation. Slightly oily texture. Taste is mostly bitter with notes of sweetness to it, which is nice, but in this style I’d actually prefer it the other way around. Aroma of malts, caramel, bread, toffee. Slightly spicy with notes of ginger and cinnamon. Really nice and complex. Finish is dry and bitter with obvious presence of alcohol burn. Overall, nicely balanced seasonal beer.

500ml bottle [thanx-mas bartlebier for this one!]. Clear amber colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Malty aroma with hints of dried fruit, dried apricot, raisin, a woody touch, some vanilla. Taste is mellow malty, dry hints of leather, a tannic and woody touch, cautious hints of vanilla, a touch of fresh and dried apricot, raisin; (non-alcoholic, non-biting) cognac notes in the finish. Quite complex, but the flavours remain in a state of intimation.

Color whisky, clara. Escasa espuma. Aroma a barrica y licor, madera y pera. dulce y agradable. En boca entra muy bien, pero le falta cuerpo. Confirma los aromas en el sabor, en un tono general dulce y licórico bastante agradable. Final mas amargo.
