500ml bottle [as 'Schützenkönig Franz Josef Bayerisch Helles']. Clear, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with average to huge, firm, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Weak, grainy, strawy, and minimally spicy, malty aroma, grassy hoppy and doughy yeasty overtones. Taste is strawy, grainy, pale malty, minimally citrusy, slightly waxy and grassy hoppy, minimally soapy, subtle sweetness. Slightly oily texture, smooth and soft palate, fine, soft, mildly prickly carbonation. Nothing special, but well crafted, fairly spicy, not that boring as many other beers in that category - OK.

50cl bottle. A clear yellow golden beer with a white head. Aroma of mild grainy malt, pale malt, some straw. Taste of mild spicy hops, pale malt, straw, sharp grainy finish.

Fläschla: Pale golden to golden, a bit unclear, small - but persistent - white foamy layer, moderate sweet grainy-dusty nose both with a mild amount of simple herbal hops and a rural (franconian?) touch; moderate sweet and mildly bitter flavour, almost medium bodied, a bit oily; slightly lingering sweet grainy finish with a mild hoppy tail. Quite O.K. for a simple and cheap Helles...

Decent beer but quite dms heavy, corn-like. Lacking the superb drinkability i expect of the style. Graeff Hamburg

Huge thanks to quack-duck for that one! Bottle looks simple. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Starts mild, malty, a bit moldy. Some wheaty-spicy notes as well. Finish well balanced, a bit boring malty. Okay.

Pours a clear golden color with a white head. Sweet flavour of hops with a subtle touch of malt.

Bottle from local Edeka. Yellow with a tall white head. Malty, some hops with hints of cardboard, dusty touch. Not convincing.
