Layer Cake

Can from Tescos. Black pour with a tan head. Nose is dark chocolate, marshmallow, cherry drops, vanilla. Taste is Tunnocks Tea Cakes, cherry drops, vanilla lots of marshmallow. Sweet desserty finish.

Pastry stout by BrewDog, with added flavours of vanilla, fudge and marshmallow; thanks Steve for sharing the can. Moussy, irregularly edged, mocha-beige, bubbly, slowly opening head on a jet black beer, no light passing through at least not under the circumstances in which I tasted it. Aroma, as announced, of milk chocolate, marshmallow, praliné, fudge, mocha ice cream, caramel candy, vanilla, hints of raspberry coulis, clove and cinnamon. Sweet onset, ‘pralines’-like indeed, lightly carbonated, very light sourish touch but sugariness dominates, though somehow largely avoids annoying stickiness; full body, very oily, thoroughly caramelly with a milk-chocolatey edge which I assume represents the marshmallow reference. Hazelnut cream and vanilla play along too, until a mild spiciness is met in the finish, vaguely reminiscent of clove, liquorice and cinnamon; a ‘cherry bonbons’ impression, however, lasts till the final drop. Very typical for a present-day pastry stout but I feel like I should add that ‘pastry stout’ was originally meant sarcastically – and in the context of the huge, groundbreaking stouts BrewDog has made its fame with in the past, this one may just be a tad underwhelming perhaps.

lattina 440 ml, schiuma color cappuccino media grana media persistenza, colore marrone/nero, al naso intenso marshmallow vaniglia gelato alla fragola cacao liquirizia, in bocca brownie vaniglia cioccolato al latte gelato alla fragola creme caramel, corpo rotondo, alcool perfettamente bilanciato, carbonazione leggera, molto dolce ma non nauseante, amaro moderato. dark, dark brown, almost black, smooth lively brown head. Aroma is unlike any other stoutish beer i've had so far. aroma reminds me of red frosting on a cake, and lots of that note, small licorice eggs in different colors (don't like those btw) milk chocolate.. somewhere between dessert and candy. where's the beer? crazy aroma alright, but not really making me look forward to taste it. flavor has some roasted malts, also cake frosting, good cofee roasted aftertaste. a stout with a strong fruity sugary flavor on top of the roasted malts. Pretty weird, i've had better pastry stouts. Brewdog went all-in weird with this one. After some time you get used to the weird flavor, then it becomes fairly drinkable.

Supersüßer Marshmallow-Trunk - man wähnt sich glatt im Omnipollo-Land. Sehr gut trinkbar, süffig, bisschen Stoit ist wahrnehmbar. Lecker Dessert.

Gekauft bei BrewDog in Berlin Mitte. Dose. Dunkles schwarz braun rot, so dunkel, dass man nicht durch schauen kann. Schnell auflösender brauner kleinporiger brauner Schaum. Aroma: Schwarzwälder Kirsch, Vanille. Geschmack: mittlere bis starke süße, Marshmellow, billiges Parfum, Vanille. Mittlere Bitterkeit.

440ml can – Pours a deep dark brown, almost black, colour with a large foamy tan head. The aroma is chocolate, vanilla and marshmallow. A sweetish chocolatey taste, sweet roasted malts, chocolate cake, vanilla and marshmallow flavours with a semi-dry roasted finish.

Appearance is black, with a small beige bubbly head. Aroma is nutty malt, marshmallow, chocolate cake, blackcurrant, milky coffee, Black Forest gateaux, caramel, vanilla hints. Taste is sweet chocolate malt, fudge, marshmallow, cakey malt, nutty notes, caramel sauce on vanilla ice cream. Sweet and tasty.

Can @ Fox & Hounds, Sønderborg, to celebrate the end og lockdown #2. Pours cloudy coffee brown with stable tan head. Clear aroma of marshmallow, yeast and chocolate, with malty touches. Bitterish, roasty onset, quickly giving way to sweet notes of marshmallow and chocolate and touches of yeast. Roasty and estery aftertaste with sweetish notes. A nice one. I like marshmallow stout, and this specific one is definitely not a disappointment.
