Batch 10. A deep dark stout with a thick frothy lacing brown head. In aroma, nice chocolate malt with loads of licorice, coffee grind, musty character, light vanilla, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with loads of coffee grind, musty character, light vanilla and light licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice and smooth, considering this is more 4 years old.

On tap at The Ginger Man, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out roasted malt upfront, with a fair amount of bitter hops, booze and liqueur-like notes. Flavour is similar, with lots of earthy hops and roasted malt. A bit muted and obscured, but decently balanced. I don't understand the hype on this. The bar has this listed as 8.5%, so I assume this is the retired version.

Bottle thanks to Bruce. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that diminishes quickly to nothing. The aroma is roast and pine. Thin mouth, strong roast, light spice, nice bitter hop biter, good.
