On tap @ Beer Week in Budapest, Saturday session. I only took numerical notes while having this one.

0.33 l bottle, courtesy of Bence, huge thanks to him. Pitch black, no head. Heavy nose of liquorice, roasted malts, coffee and cocoa. Taste has the same notes, with long lasting, sweet finish. Softly carbonated, medium to heavy bodied. Nice one.

330ml bottle from the Farmers Bar, Puchong. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a long lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, red berry fruits, blueberries, raspberries, raisins. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter and sweet, with a roasty, big juicy tart fruit, light perfume, floral hop palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Not sure about the “oatmeal”. This was a real fruit bomb. Awesome.

Bottle from Deconinck. Cloudy black, thinning, beige head. Aroma of milk chocolate, toast, brownie, coffee roast, liqueur, earth, macadamia. Taste has sweet chocolate, brownie & nuts, powdery feel, bitter coffee roast with an earthy touch. Toasty finish, lots of powdery chocolate & coffee, bit creamy, earthy hops & coffee liqueur alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Nice one, not too sweet and just roast-forward.

Bottle, at B2. Dark brown to black in the glass, topped by a small light tan head. The aroma has roasted malts, brown sugar, licorice, some molasses and a touch of oat and alcohol. It's full bodied and softly carbonated, with a light warmth. Semi-sweet, with flavors of roasted malts, licorice, molasses and a touch of brown sugar and alcohol. Long, quite sweet finish. Delicious, and dangerously easy drinkable. 200107

bottle from b2 burger, gran canaria pours pitch black and thick as oil. no head. aroma of hard roasted malts, licorice, faint coffee. flavor is roasted malts, licorice, coffee. some bitterness towards the end that i can't place. sort of charred woody bitterness or perhaps alc. bitterness. also some sweetness in there, dark brown sugar and rye. Tastes like it's been lagered on whiskey or perhaps rum barrels. then sweetness would be from the booze. Very tasty black beer.
