750 ml Cork and caged bottle: BBD 8th Jul 2018, shared with the wife and son at home on 21st Apr 2017. Golden blonde with a white topping. Caramel injection takes over the beer completely, just didn’t sit well for me, even with my sweet tooth.

75 cl. bottle shared with Rick @ home, bought @ Lidl Culemborg. Golden with a white head. Caramel aroma with some yeast. Sweet taste. not bad at all.

Bottle from Lidl Clear golden coloured with an off white head. Aroma is yeasty, bit of fruityness, malts, estery, bit of apple. Flavour is caramel malts, bit of butter cookies, yeast, bit of caramel. Med-high carbonation. Fairly sweet.

Bottle, 6.5%. Caramelly and flowery aroma. Clear dark golden colour. Small white head. The flavour is flowery, yeasty. Has a rather bitter finish, slightly rough. Late teaish and caramelly aftertaste.

Bottle from Lidl via Sarkynorthener cheers Martin; clear amber pour with a bubbly white head, aroma has honey and yeast, taste has light citrus, hint of apricot, some yeast.

0.75l bottle. Malty aroma, caramel, alcohol and sweet notes. Clear golden color, white head. Malty taste, caramel, alcohol, wet cardboard. Medium body, thick texture, soft carbonation and bitter-sweet finish with alcohol notes. Average.

Bottle from 12 bottle party pack from Lidl. For me the benchmark for any of these abbey beers is how good is the base blond beer. Now i have had a lot of these and a bit like bitter its my favourite style when done well. Duvel for instance. Clear amber colour. Lasting white head. none of these beers have thrown a sediment. Some peach yeast ester presence. It’s quite a full heavy malty blond. More am amber than a light elegant blond Spicy hop on the finish is de riguer. Yes sweetish. Some honey. Some golden syrup. Some hop spice. A little one dimensional. Pleasant enough but a little empty.

Fles (t.h.t. 16-08-14) op 09-08-15 gedeeld met mijn dochter. Goudkleurig helder bier. Weinig, gebroken wit schuim met kleine bellen dat snel weg is. Fruitig aroma en een zoetige smaak. Licht kleverig in de mond. Een licht bittere nasmaak vloeit langzaam uit.

Bottle shared with Joes and Dutchdrebus @ weekly tasting. Clear golden color, huge a bit siapy white head that diminishes fairly quickly and leaves fair lacing. Smell and taste malts, sweet, a hint of metal, some yeast. Well, hard to say anything about this beer that’s not really obvious. Typical French blond / biere de garde.
