Pours black. Smell is thick, toasty. Some oats indeed, intense, ashy. Taste is silky, roasted, mild coffee. Mild booze, strong flavored. Oats show mildly. Tad sweet, some chocolate. Tasty!

Sampled from tap at BPBW 2018. Pitch black with a creamy, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of nougat, mocca, hazelnut and some vanilla. Rather sweet, malty, slightly roasty taste of milk chocolate, nougat, hazelnut and a touch of vanilla, followed by a medium long, moderately roasty-bitter, slightly earthy finish. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of dark chocolate, coffee and hazelnut. Sweetish-malty, rather roasty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice and some hazelnut, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!

La Pirata envoie du lourd. Cette Oatmeal Stout est réellement une belle réussite avec des arômes intenses et une bonne présence en bouche. D'autant plus qu'avec 7,8 % Abv, je ne m'attendais pas à autant de puissance. Ce stout se déguste lentement et se laisse savourer. Deux tous petits bémols, un sucre que je trouve sur la limite haute et une complexité qui aurait pu être un peu plus poussée. En verre, le noir est total (EBC de 185). L'effervescence très peu poussée ne permet aucune mousse à sa surface. Les arômes sont francs sur le café principalement, bien accompagnés d'épices, de chocolat et légèrement fumé. Côté houblon, nous sommes sur du Herkules, conférant à la fois cette puissance, cette sobriété et ce côté épicé. L'attaque est sur un excellent équilibre malt/houblon. Prédominance au café avec des épices bien marquées. La deuxième bouche prend davantage d'ampleur, sur le café avec une pointe fumée et des épices toujours bien présentes. L'arrière bouche, également d'une bonne ampleur, est par contre linéaire. La troisième bouche monte sur l'amertume qui est alors à son maximum (celle-ci n'étant que de 40 mais avec un bon ressenti) pour aller vers un final où les arômes de café légèrement fumé restent longtemps en bouche et un alcool très efficace renforçant cette sensation de puissance (les épices ayant quant à elles quasiment disparues). Très belle réalisation à sortir du Lab.

Caña en vivalabirra 01..03..2018. (r04). Color negro intenso con espuma beige oscuro. Sabores intensos maltosos tostados con toques torrefactos y buenas dosis de vainillas y cacaos. Buena sensación alcohólica desde el principio. Cuerpo intenso denso fino y cremoso. Bastante buena para repetir sin duda.

Botella en el kraken 03..03..2017. Lote L201612116 hasta 12..2021. (r61). Color negro intenso brillante con muy poca espuma beige oscuro que cuesta sacarsela. Sabores intensos cacaos cafés y maltas tostadas todo ello bien integrado y bastante fino. Cuerpo medio a intenso no muy denso pero bastante fino y cremoso.7.8 vol con bastante sabor. Buena sensación alcohólica desde el principio. Bastante buena. Para repetir duda.

Bottle. Black inky pour. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and mild ash. Taste has roasted malt, chocolate, some earthy vanilla, subtle cherry, caramel and a nice sticky mouthfeel. Good tasty ris. Nice to taste some roast instead of marshmallow once in a while.

Black color with a dark tan head that quickly dissapears. Aroma is roasty, toasty, notes of sweet malts and ripe dark fruit. Flavor is sweet, roasty, notes of dark fruits, some coconut. Sweet final, no cloying, alcohol hidden by sweet dark malts.

Black, small tan head. Aroma has roasted malt, chocolate, milk choc. Roasted flavour, sweet with coffee, cocoa and chocolate. Fruity and with a little bitterness. Thick and slightly sticky. Very nice, but the sweetness is a bit too much.

Draught @ Dunkbar, Odense. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of roast, chocolate and malt, med touches of coffee and yeast. Bitter and roasty onset, with sweet notes of lactose, chocolate, malt, and fruit. Seretish aftertaste with fruity and roastt hints. Warming alcohol presence. Good. Sweet and yummy.

On tap at Dunkbar. Black with a lasting tan head. Roasted aroma with licorice, toasted bread and a touch of chocolate. Sweet, light roasted flavour with a thick mouthfeel of super oatmeal. Just a little too sweet for my taste.
