Sampled @ ACBF Vichte 2017. Fast schwarze Farbe. Geruch nach Schokolade, süßes dunkles Malz, Lactose. Geschmack sehr süß schokoladig, Vanille, Lactose, Espresso, toll.

Clear black beer, no head. Aroma: dark chocolate, roasted, not much else though. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: sweet and sugary start, alcohol, hoppy touch, very roasted, cocoa powder, dark chocolate. Aftertaste: bitter touch, coffee, cocoa powder, charcoal, alcohol, sweet, some caramel.

Bottle at Struise shop in Bruges. Pale beige, moussy head, quickly reduced to a thin rim over a jet black beer. Rich and beguiling aroma of cappuccino, unsugared chocolate, soggy brown bread, candied banana, whisky, black pepper, marmelade, glue, leather. Candied date sweetness in the onset, thin beef stock-like umami edge with the sourishness of roasted barley underneath; softish carbo, thick and oily mouthfeel with the expected oatmeal creaminess. Thick nutty and bitter chocolate-like malt body, roasted bitter finish with whisky-like, warming alcohol and a peppery hop bitterness. Exemplary in all respects.

Bottle @ skortila van Van Pernis.Black coloured with a brown head. Nose is mocca, coffee, roasted malts. Flavour is roasted malts, coffee, marshmallows, some fruits. Very thick and on the sweet side.

330 ml bottle at home from trade with Douberd. Thanks Christos! Black color with nice brown head. Roasted malty aroma, cocoa, chocolate, coffee, oat, licorice. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma but even better with caramel and dark fruits addition. Full silky creamy body with soft carbonation.

Bottle thx to Bullit, small sample. Datk color, short frothy head. Aroma of roast, tar, molasses. Marshmallow sweetness in taste, coffee, mocha.

33 cl bottle. Pours pitch blackwith a small brown head. Aroma is roasted malty, dark chocolate. Breadish, chocolate and toasted. Sweet, dark malty, breadish, chocolate, roasted. Light liqourice note. Dry, bitterand dark malty. Roasted and lingering finish.

At Maakun’s. Bottle courtesy of Maakun. Black with thin light tan head. Big sweet roasted chocolate and caramel malts. Vanilla, chocolate, roasted grain, oats, light alcoholic. Big sweet, under medium bitter. Heavy body, thick oily texture, low carbonation, sweet, big roasted bittersweet finish. Very nice!

Bottle shared. Pitch black with barely any head just a tiny light brown ring. Massive roasted notes, toffee, fudge, espresso, strong licorice, rye bread, some citrus hops, vanilla, raw cocoa. Over medium sweet and roasted bitter. Full bodied with thick syrupy feel. The mouthfeel is great here, super thick and syrupy, with nice strong roasted stout notes. Pretty good beer.
