There is a flavour intensity to our DDH Pales, this one hopped with hand-selected Rakau and Waimea, that we find affirming, yet also mellow and relaxing. A beer not confined by strength and good judgement to the shortest of measures, instead a beer for long and lingering pauses. One such pause during last year’s hop selection trip was the ferry from Picton — hours along the Marlborough Sounds, and across Cook Strait.

440ml can online from the source. Pours murky orange with a white head. Aroma: pale malts, mango, pineapple, gentle grassy hops. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter, mango, melon, pineapple & orange hints, grapefruit. Fruity bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Something missing here, for me

17-11-20 // 440ml can. Damn thats hazy juicy yellow. Love NZ hops. So juicy tropic fruity but also a hint of pine backbone and along with a good bitterness this is perfectly smashable.

Can at home. Super cloudy yellow-ish to dull orange with small white head. Dank weedy hops, star fruit, soft white grapes, Granny Smith apples, kiwi. Lots of NZ style hop goodness here! Under medium sweet and over medium bitter. Almost medium bodied. Lovely.
