A high fermentation beer, Jenlain Ambrée is one of the first specialty beers in France and is been brewed since 1922. It owes its success to its inimitable taste stronger than all fashions. Its copper color, its aromas of cooked fruit and caramel make it a beer widely recognized for tasting but also a perfect ally for cooking.

# 3483; 2/2023. Malty, bready and light earthy and fruity aroma. Cloudy amber body; lacin off-white head. Malty, bready, chestnut, light spicy, toasty, orange peel, light alcohol. Very good amber biére de garde. 0,5 l, can, supermarket, Grande-Synthe (Flander, France).

Can from a French supermarket - many thanks, Anke! Pours clear dark golden with a lasting, small, off-white head. Aroma of pure malt, biscuit, ripe red apple, honey, bread, caramel. Taste has sweet maltiness of biscuit, caramel & candied fruit, yeasty throughout with a low herbal hoppy bitterenss, ending malty, yeasty & sweet with (quite unexpected) boozy gin-like alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Bit too plain & crude in the end, I expected a bit more actually.

Keyaki. Copper coloured, bit weird. Very floral and fruity, berries. Not as I expected. Sweet caramel too. Feels a bit thin for the sweetness but nice enough.

Can. Orange color, fading head. No specific aroma. Sweet, alcoholic, soapy, pefumed flavor. Short aftertaste. Not good.

Aus der Flasche im 2014-11 getrunken. Sehr gut balanciert zwischen Malzaromen, leichten Röst- & Honignoten.
