Enigma Encrypted APA is a top fermented light beer. It is our first beer made from Australian hops. This light, top fermented beer is a fresh, session APA with mild zest and medium body. The Enigma hops give it a strong aroma and a scent of raspberries, blackcurrant, grapes and tropical fruits. We also used Pilsner and Pale Ale malt.

Can at home picked up from HOTM. A almost clear golden yellow coloured pour with a lively rocky white head. Aroma is nice earthy bready grains, piney hop, some leafy hop, grass. Flavour is composed of earthy grains, piney, leafy hop, grass, some medicinal hop, metalic note. Palate is semi crisp, flakey grains, lively airy carbonation. Good stuff.

Draught Huge, dense, lightly yellowish head over almost clear golden beer. Fruity and fresh pale malts, exotic fruit, lunaria, passion fruit, cilandro, white grapes. Exotic fruit with a fine bitterish edge. Bitter(ish) fruit, capers without salt or vinegar. Some restsugars. Light body, bit slick, dry finish. Clean, drinkable, not really great.

Pours a slightly pale golden, with a low to medium sized white head that shows good enough retention and a bit of lacing. Average intensity in the aroma: moderate, quite neutral maltiness (just a cerealy hint), followed by a rather interesting fruity profile (pineapple, mango, hint of berries) and moderate pine/resiny notes. Taste is similar, with minor differences: little resinous feel, maybe less than the aroma suggested, a hint of hop pricklyness/spiciness. Overall clean and well defined with a delicate refreshing feel, though honestly quite subdued and less vivid/intense than i expected. Light bodied with average carbonation; very easy to drink, lively enough. Not bad at all, but failed to impress me. Maybe not their most inspired offering or maybe a slightly tired can (though three months ahead of bbf).

500ml Can - Golden with a foamy head and a slight haze. Grapes, hop resins and some hints of peach and apricot in the aroma. Hoppy, crisp and fairly refreshing taste, rather dry, with notes of grapes, melon, tea, hop resins and a hint of aniseed. A good showcase for Enigma hops.
