Plzeň goes to show that a beer doesn’t need a lot of alcohol to be special. With its fine, hoppy flavour, this 5% blond beer can certainly hold its own against the stronger beers. Brewed only from pale barley malt, this is a floral beer with delightful, hoppy aromas of hay and fresh grass. Deliciously dry, with a long-lasting aftertaste. We named the beer after the Czech town of Plzeň, from which Pilsner beers originate. Despite that, our Plzeň is not a Pilsner; it is a refreshing, bitter, top-fermented beer.

Bottle in Amsterdam. Pours a hazy, yellow-gold with a generous, white head. Crispy toast malts, grass, and light earth on the nose. Light sweet flavor, some dried grains, kind of sharp and dry grass, weeds and rinds. Light bodied with average carbonation. Has a dry, deeply grassy hop finish. Could use a bit more sweetness. Alright overall, though the lack of sweetness at times makes the hops seem a bit astringent.

33 cl bottle, BBE 03.2012
Flavour is a bit sour and has some earthy and leather-like notes. Dry palate. Flavour is sour too but still kind of pils-like, containing some hops, herbal notes and spices. Interesting mixed-style beer and very refreshing! Dry and sour aftertaste lingers for a long time.

33cl bottle from Bierzwerg. Poured slightly hazy, yellow color with a frothy, perfect white head and lacing. Aroma is wheat and coriander mostly. Flavor is somewhat fruity spicy and with some hint of yeast, still very dry and bitter towards finish. Ale or pilsener, whatever. This is a magnificent beer, crisp and very tasty, I want more!

Light yellow, cloudy beer with a quite big and white head. Aroma is fresh, belgian-style fruityness, some lemon, sweetness and sourness. Taste is quite bitter, slightly fruitfull, some peppery spicyness, slightly sourness and aftertaste is dry with grassy hoppyness. Surprisingly, a quite full bodied and with a same time also easy and pleasant. Very nice, enjoyable Pils with belgian nuancees.

Lahev: Golden, cloudy, small creamy off-white head; herbal-hoppy nose with a solid fruity-yeasty counterpart; quite dry bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; a blend of lemony-fruity and lemony-hoppy flavours in the dry&lingering bitter- sweet finish. To neni "Plzeň"! Ti šileni Holand’ané opravdu mysli, že spousta hořkého chmelu dela dobre česky Ležák......

(bottle, 33cl) Cloudy, pale golden colour with a big and slightly off-white foamy head. Yeasty, wheaty and citrus-fruity aroma with herbal-spicy hops. Bitter flavour, light bodied with a lively carbonation. Initially slim malty taste with notes of citrus and yeasty spice, dry and rather slim finish with an increasing hoppy and yeasty bitterness. Not that rounded. 19.XII.10

bottle. Hazy pale yellow, large white head. Sourish-fruity nose. Light-bodied, dry palate, very hoppy indeed. A fruity-sourish touch os also, present, as are spices and herbs. Neither Bohemian nor a Pilsener (more like a very/extremely hoppy Bitter), but I like it a lot.
