Ørbæk Black is a coal-black liquorice stout with a beautiful, light-brown head. Brewed with love, it is perfect for anyone who cannot keep their fingers off a bowl of liquorice all-sorts. Ørbæk Black is brewed using dark, rich types of malt, which lend the beer notes of freshly-toasted bread and liquorice all-sorts. It is a liquorice stout, to which we add chili to provide an extra touch of sharpness. It has a lovely aroma of the deep malt base with great chocolate, toffee and slightly smoky notes. The taste is rich and caramelised with a delicate bitterness from the roasted malt. You will also notice the scrumptious liquorice and sharp chili.

Flaske på rbhd-samling hos Odd Gunnar: et superflott utseende på skum og farge.Mye lakris sammen med en hot følelse i aroma og smak. Iflg etiketten er den tilsat lakrids, lakridsrot, peber og chili. Litt vandig, men allikevel veldig mye smak for 4,7. Definitivt en annerledes, god og interessant øl. Tørr avslutning. Kjekt å smake noe som ikke er mainstream fra et industribryggeri. Ettersom denne var bb feb-14 vil jeg prøve den i ferskere utgave.

Shared 500 ml bottle at local tasting, bought in Denmark. Organic. BB date 14.02.14. Black colour, moderate beige head. Moderate aroma of dark malts, dust, liquorice and pepper. The mouthfeel is as expected from a 4.7% Ørbæk beer, a little watery for the style. Flavour of moderately roasted malts and liquorice, medium dry, hints of pepper and chili. Nice enough, but as other Ørbæk beers: somewhat half-hearted.

50cl bottle thanks to onkelgobber. Appearance - lovely fluffy head over an opaque black body. Nose - gently smoky perhaps going into charcoal. Taste - creamy, then liquorice in both a finished sweet and then the root liquorice kicks in with those almost fennel notes. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long lovely finish. Overall - really like this. Elegance personified!

Bottle. 4.8%. Dusty aroma, cement-like. Almost black colour, has a red shine. Good light brown head. The first thing I notice in the flavour is a mild raw liquorice, but quite soon thereafter comes a mild, but distinct chili note. Has a fruity chili flavour, but not so much burn. OK balanced, and different from most other beers.

Bottle. Pours slughtly hazy very dark copper brown with stable light tan head. Clear aroma of maæt and caramel with sparse fruity notes. Bitter, roasty flavour with notes of coffee, liquorice, chili and malt. Roasty aftertaste. Not bad, if a little too watery.
