Biggish white head shrinks slowly. Yellow slightly hazy body with light carbonation. Sweetish mealy yeasty aroma with fruity notes and faint grassy hop notes. Dry chalky faintly fruity malty taste with grassy hop notes. Lemony notes. Chalky, powdery mouthfeel. Dry grassy dandelion hop aftertaste. Not bad, but a bit muddy and boring. The hops make a good contribution, but don’t stand out enough. (0.5l bottle at Cardinal.)

Bottle 0,5l. Pale golden colored. Unclear. A large, lasting fluffy head. Sweet aroma of hay. Carbonated. Dry fruity flavor with a dry bitter lasting aftertaste. Quite good!

50 cl bottle. Unfiltered. Pours unclear/hazy gar yellow with a handsome egg white head & laicings. Aroma is fresh - grassy malty & hops. Body & carbonation is very pilsner like. Fresh taste with a bitter end. Quite drinkable pilsener! Bottle as Pilsner May 2011: Fresh, grassy and malty. Very smooth. No off flavours - very clean. Tasty and well made. 3,1 - 3,3

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 4.6%. Like all Svaneke / Bornholmer Bryg beers it is unfiltered, but the bottles are now pasteurised. (The beers are still available unpasteurised on tap in the brewpub.) Pale yellow colour, hazy. Large and lasting head. Pleasant aroma and flavour of flowery and fruity hops (3 different kinds are used, they don’t say which ones, my guess is Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, Tettnang and Spalt), there is a subtle base of pilsener malts, hints of honey. Some bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel, very pleasant to drink. A pilsener well above average.

Bottle. Clear medium yellow orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate hoppy, grass, flowers, light malty, toasted, hay. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (280907)

CBF07 sample from tap. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is malty, slight sour and slight fruity. Flavour is malty, soft and some fruit. Dry finish. Decent carbonation. I didn’t sense the classical Svaneke yeast in this one.

(50 cl bottle at a hotel on Bornholm, Denmark) A bit shady pale golden color, fluffy white head. Soft grainy and buttery scent. Hoppy taste, almost subtle. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Buttery aftertaste.

(sampled at the Düsseldorf RB gathering) Slightly hazy, yellow colour with a medium-sized foamy white head. Slightly skunky, malty aroma with a touch of citrus. Light bitter, gassy flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Malty taste with light herbal and citrus-fruity notes; weak, slightly bitter, retronasal skunky finish.
