Hazy golden with a big white head. Aroma of citrus, yeast, spices, hops. Flavour is citrus, yeast and some spices. Some sour notes. Finishes rather dry. Overall this is an okay brew, but a bit too heavy on the citrus.

Bottle. Pale amber color. Peppery citric hops and tangerine in the aroma. Hint of nutmeg. Firm earthy citric hopbitter flavor with nutmeg and tangerine. Slightly herbal aftertaste. Well made and fairly well balanced ale. Bottle sold as Berghoeve Melbuul’n Bier Blond, tasted september 2013. Deep golden color, hazy. Citrus and soap in the aroma and flavor. Strange tart flavor with leathery notes. Seems to be infected with brettanomyces. Interesting.

Bottled from speciaalbierpakket.nl, BB 03-2015, large sample, served in a trappist glass. Small gusher, initially clear golden color with a huge rocky slight off-white head. Aroma is quite spicy, peppery, some coriander or celery, flowery, slight green apple. Bit bitter in taste, bit sweet, slight sourness. Quite high in carbonation. Bit stale finish, metallic. Im afraid this one is from the period where infections were not uncommon.

Bottle from the Bierkoning. Poured a hazy medium to light amber with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is zesty lemon citrus & yeast. The flavour is medium bitter light sweet with a dry bubbly yeast aspirin palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. A strange combination of flavours. Won’t win too many friends.

0,33 l bottle directly bought at the brewery. Dark orange and unclear in the glass. Big foamy head. Sweet malt with light hopy grapefruit on the nose. Starts with fruity, light hop herb, and malt with belgian sweetness. Later increases the bitterness on malty base. Little bit sticky at the end.

Bottle @ ansjelaah. Hazy orange to amber colour with a medium, not-dense beige head. Smells malts, some hops, orangepeel, overripe fruits, sweet. Tastes bitter, slightly watery, malts, fruity.. They have better beers. Slightly overcarbonated, thin body.

33 cl bottle from Bierkoning’s box of Eastern Dutch goodies, thanks Edo! Second try - had a brett-infected bottle of this once, so decided not to rate it then. Amber color, slightly hazy. Large, uneven off-white head, slowly receding. Aroma’s: caramel, tropical fruit, sour fruit. Retronasal there’s not much. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, hint of tartness. Body is light to medium. Finish is slightly dry, light bitter. OK, but a little bit disappointing coming from this sympathetic brewery.
