Minimal foam on wet looking molasses. Aroma is heavy boozy molasses, vague bourbon. Taste is sweet coconut and malt ending smooth, sweet, and not boozy. Overly sweet and that's about it.

Poured from the tap (listed as 14.1% ABV). Black with tan head. Vanilla, chocolate, smooth bourbon. Very nice.

Near black. Thick caramel head. On the nose, it's pretty appetizing, with vanilla, sweet chocolate, slight toastiness, a bit of earthiness/umami sort of thing in there, too. On the palate, that same rich chocolate character, rounded by vanilla, alcohol and a bit of wood. Sort of an almond note, too. The cinnamon shows just a touch, an accent to all the other richness. This one's got a little complexity, a lot of richness and is just really damn satisfying.

Can, pours jet black with a medium tan head. Nose is loaded with intense coffee, followed by light vanilla and cinnamon, and moderate bourbon barrels. Flavour is unbelievably intense, with intense coffee, sweet caramelized sugars, molasses, bourbon, vanilla and a hint of cinnamon. The coffee is extremely intense, outdoing the other adjuncts. The barrels round this off nicely. It's very sweet but not cloying. Lovely.

355 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with short tan head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of rich coffee, chocolate syrup, and slick roasted malts Flavors of creamy sweet coffee, marzipan, light bourbon, chocolate syrup and thick oily roasted malts. Hot finish though not distracting.

Jet black with a decent light brown head. Fudgy chocolate and a touch of spice. Spiced chocolate, heat and some definite throat burn. The heat and spice are nice for the style and work well.
A deep dark stout with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, licorice, molasses, light bourbon barrel notes, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, vanilla, maple, alcohol warmth, very nice and beautiful. On tap at brewery.

2022-01-02, can from the brewery, 8-4-8-4-17=41
Accents on the spices, the milk chocolate, the spirit; medium body (read: strong alcohol), medium sweetness, a nice sipper.
2021-10-19, can, 8-4-8-4-17=41
Sweet but lacking complexity; the alcohol wins over the sugar, the mouthfeel is not as thick as other beers; nice roasted malt character, almonds, vanilla, mild Bourbon; indeed on the first sips there is a flavour of Haribo liquorice roll, but it fades.
2020-12-10, can, 9-4-8-4-16=41
The aroma is deep, intense, elegant; coffee chocolate truffle, roasted nuts. Sweet, but the sugar is cut by the alcohol; dark sugar flavour, some chocolate, some liquorice is a note out of tune; boozy.
2020-11-13, draught at the brewery, 9-4-8-4-17=42
Black colour. Mild aroma of coffee, chocolate, and light bourbon, elegant. Chocolate flavour, sweet but with massive alcohol cutting through, light vanilla, biscuit, balanced bourbon.

3oz. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: coffee and spices. Taste: very silky, nice bourbon character, moderately to high sweet, nice coffee character, a bit boozy, low spice. Overall: very nice, much better than last year IMO.
