Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 24/03/10. Dark brown with a hint of red and moderate, off-white head. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, berry fruit and grassy hops. Flavour began with some sweet malts, more fruit, a hint of roastiness and finished off fairly bitter. Enjoyable.

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a red shine under a brown head. The aroma is sweet with a slight acidic edge and notes of spices. The flavor is sweet and acidic with notes of roasted malt and vegetables. Why?

500ml Bottle - Very dark brown with some red tinges and a tan head. Hoppy and slightly soapy aroma with coffee and chocolate also noticeable. Chocolate and hops in the taste with a hoppy and slightly sour finish which features coffee.

Black with large beige head. Aroma has hard roasted malt, caramel and coffee notes. Sweet flavor with hard roasted malt, caramel, coffee and liquerice notes. Ends mild bitter. Somewhat watery and sourish.

Bottle 50cl.Clear dark red brown color with a large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, coffee, sour. Flavor is moderate sweet and sour with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (130608)

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a hazy reddish brown with a lively off-white head. Aroma of burned malt and vanilla. Medium body with distinct notes of burned malt and ashes and a distinct acidity. Bitter/tart finish. 130608

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy and dark brown with a lacing tan head. Light pinewood hoppy aroma and mild roasted malt. Flavour is distinct bitterhops and mild roasted malt in a not fully integrated mix. Ends bitter pinewood hoppy dry.

[i] [b] Bottle picked up from Westholme, Londis, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon, had this 11-05-08 [/i] [/b] Pours deepest darkest brown with a small beige head. Good fruity roasted taste, marvellously flavoursome with a great punchy bitterness. There is just a smidgen of toffeeness in this but this is soon beaten back by the roasted bitter assault. A quite lovely porter that even allowing for some hoppiness seems to be a very good example of the style, I for one loved this.
