Add a backbone of local rustic pale malt, and Field Study is just what we were after: a slightly hazy yet bright summer daydream come true.

12 ounce bottle from State Line Liquors, 8/23/22. Slightly hazy gold thin off-white head, average retention. Aroma of honey, tropical fruit, pale malt. Taste is melon, grapefruit, green hops. Juicy, mild bitterness. Slick mouthfeel. Solid.

12oz bottle. Another IPA in the same realm as the last few. The oats dampen everything, kind of cutting away any bitterness, balance. Fresh, enjoyable beer, just wish they would do away with the oats in this one. Delicate hop tone.

12 ounce bottle. Medium gold pour. Dense white head is two-fingers high. Fragrant citrus and pine nose. Flavor is mildly sweet malt with some fruity notes. Hints of lime, grapefruit and tropical fruit. Medium bodied. A touch of pine in finish.

Wegmans can. Red fruit smell, citrus, pineapple. Hazy gold. Flavor is citrus, pineapple, metallic peach. Somewhat disappointing. My friend says this tastes like “desperate afterbirth.” I don’t know that that means.
