Based on a German Kristallweizen style beer, but in a nod to its origins, Moa Blanc is brewed using renowned Sauvignon Blanc wine yeast. A blend of 50% wheat malt and 50% barley malt results in an elegantly smooth beer with hints of spice and uplifting esters.

37,5cl bottle from Annam Gourmet Market, Saigon. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Light wheat aroma with yeast and citrus. Light and fruity and quite weak flavourwise. Finish is lighlty yeasty and slightly citric. Light and watery and quite boring, but still refreshing. (2012-05-11)

750 bottle-shared by jtclockwork @Small Tasting at my place-pours hazy yellow with a fizzy white head. Aroma is lemon/grassy, wheat/grain. Taste is grain/light malt, 2nd grassy hops, with some lemon at the finish. Upfront effervescence, crisp, then a quick finish.

Bottled. A hazy light golden beer with a huge white head. The aroma has light notes of wheat and coriander. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and wheat as well as hints of coriander and citrus, leading to a dry wheaty finish.

375ml bottle. Hazy light orange with an inch of white head. Aroma of lemon juice, wheat, a little cloves. Body is quite watery. Taste is mild with apple, pear sweetness, a bit of lemon tartness and mere suggestions of spice.

Pours amber with a sudsy white head.Nose is uber-skunky but this quickly fades to reveal hints of lemon and wheat.Similar lemon flavours, quite acidic and tangy as well. Otherwise just a little bit of wheat and sweet unchallenged malt.Carbonation is way too high.

Got 750 ml bottle at Carl’s Meat Market in Kittery, Maine. (Carl is a beer geek and has a nice BUT small beer selection) Pours a soft translucent yellow with a inch of a frothy white head that stayed the way down. Nose is like of a pale lager, soft wheat character, wisps of citrus and grassy hops. Flavor is similar and very simple. Grassy hops, light mouthfeel, lightest hints of citrus peel. Palate is light and crisp. What it lacks in complexity, it makes up in drinkability and it is TRULY a refreshing brew.

Skunked lemon zest aroma. Milky yellow, huge, clingy head. Skunked citrus peel, lightly tart and finishes with that familiar foreign lager sugar cane. If Heineken made a wit and then left it in the sun for a month, it would probably taste like this.

Hazy and dull beige - not a particularly attractive beer. Some yeasty spice on the nose with a perfumey lime note. Unexciting palate hints of yeast but little else. Background spice. Uneventful, with barely any wit character.
