Name changed to California Amber

A rich, copper ale with a case full of gold medals.
Our California Amber takes its inspiration from traditional English ESBs. Four types of malts give it a bold complexity, and our proprietary yeast strain lends it a fruity, madeira-like richness. However, it’s the American hops that give this ale a distinct bite and floral aroma that have earned it just about every major beer medal.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Rich auburn pour with a slight, filmy head. Sweet malt nose, hints of toffee. Flavor first strikes as sweet, some doughy malts and toffee, then gives way to herbal, earthy bitterness. Medium in body with average carbonation. There’s a good bit of toasty, almost roasty malts in the finish, more herbal hops, light fruits. Good beer.

Cask handpull at JDW Willow Walk Victoria. Completely agree with tbone. Decent amber ale mind you with some peppery leafy hop on the finish. A luttle sweet on the aroma but i do like the hops on this. Best beer to have come out of Sheps since the Stone one. Best of the guest brewers this year. Not that keen on the nose but the rest is good

Cask@The Willow Walk Victoria
Deep amber color, small beige head. Fruity hoppy nose. Medium-bodied. Caramel, sweetish malty, finish picks up some hoppy bitterness. As an amber ale, this is quite OK.
